The Awakening is a small, heroic raiding guild on Draenor EU. We are a friendly and silly gang, most of our members are in their late twenties and thirties. Many of us are from the UK, but we come from all over Europe, among others Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Poland, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Our main goal has always been to raid, and we have been raiding ever since we started out in Zul’Gurub in 2006. We have aimed to clear heroic content while it’s current, and done so with success.

We have never used voice chat for raid leading. One of the first questions people ask me is why not, when it’s easier? I think all our members have different reasons. It requires you to think for yourself, know what to do and when to do it. Some find this to be very satisfying. Many say it’s more immersive and you can enjoy the game in a different way. Some prefer to not wear a headset because of their family- or living situation. Some like to listen to music during raids. It can also be better if you have issues with hearing or concentration.

Our 17th anniversary is coming up this summer! We are enjoying Dragonflight and look forward to a few more anniversaries still.
