See the recruitment box on the right (or below) for available classes and roles.
- Have you read and understood the Guild Rules?
2. What is the name, class and preferred roles(s) of the character you are applying with?
Craggyfern, Druid, Balance
Willing to switch spec if needed to Feral/Guardian (Healing makes me a little nervous / PTSD from arena in TBC )
3. What are your favourite things to do in WoW?
I like a challenge. Interesting encounters with great mechanics, are what I remember enjoying the most. Currently I'm enjoying world quests and getting to grips with the new stat system.
4. How long have you been playing WoW?
I used to play from Vanilla through to WotLK raiding up to the argent tournament, I kept playing off and on through all expansions other than MoP (couldn't handle the pandas).
While raiding I played as a Resto druid at the start, with an open preference to going balance. In vanilla I was one of the few regular raiding Moonkins going into AQ40, with the introduction of TBC I stayed with the same group of people (initially 'Is Better Than You' a joke name, we then re-branded to 'Pentaverate') and were competative on the alliance side on the Dragonblight server, at one point it was hotly debated which guild got server first Brutalus kill as another guild had also killed him at the same time/day.
When WotLK came out with the introduction of Death Knight I applied to switch class as we had gained a competent stable of druids and we, as a guild, wanted to cover our bases class wise for the new expansion. I also levelled up my druid and raided on both when needed. It was at this point that I felt that some of the encounters being introduced were feeling lazy (Argent Tournament). It was here I started to wind down my WoW time. by Cata I was back to playing my Druid and leveled from 80-85 by gathering herbs and mining, eventually I stopped playing WoW.
I came back to the game periodically during WoD, but I could not find where my previous guild mates had gone, or if they were still playing at all. Then when Legion came out I dropped a few subtle hints to a friend and he suggested moving over to the Draenor server as that is were he is now playing (Solaras), so I used the level 100 char boost to create a Tauren Druid and level that to 110 and prepare to get back into dungeons/raids properly. I still have a bit of a way to go with prep, but I now have a target goal of being raid ready by the end of September.
- What are your previous guilds and why did you leave them?
As stated above I have been 'guildless' for a while.
When raiding in TBC and WotLK I held the rank of officer with my duties involving chairing applications and assisting in 'Loot Council' discussions. (We did not use DKP and instead asked for interest for an item of loot and then a decision would be made of where the biggest upgrade for the guild would be made or if someone has not received loot in a long time. This even was used for rare mounts and these were awarded to members for either long service or exceptional contribution to the guild).
As stated above I left the guild when I effectively quit WoW for a while and I wasn't around when my previous guildies moved servers.
- What do you hope to find in our guild?
Fun / Dungeons / Raiding / Social aspect of being in a guild again (previously guilded with Solaras/Kaminsod/Dwreject on Alliance/Dragonblight)
- Is there anything else you would like to add?
I would like to get back into WoW, but not to the raiding 6 days a week I was back in TBC/WotLK as I don't want to burn out again. As with most people, my life is a bit different to when I started playing back in 2004 and can't spend all my time in game.
If you are applying for social membership you don't need to fill out the rest of the questions, unless you wish to perhaps raid with us in the future.
Are you available to join for raids on
Wednesdays 20:00 - 00:00 server time: Yes
Thursdays 20:00 - 00:00 server time: Yes
How often do you think you'll be able to show for our raids?
I would like to aim for most/all, but I will give notice for days I will not be able to attend due to IRL commitments,
What are the most important stats for your class and role? We just want to make sure that you know the basics.
Somethings never change for Balance Druids, Haste/Crit are king. Being able to get that spell off % quicker, is a % dps increase
Gone are the days of 0.2s wrath casts (RIP spell and GCD haste reduction).
My current dps spell priority is (single target) Sunfire, Moonfire, Stellar Flare, New Moon, Solar Wrath and casting Starsurge when possible. Then keeping DoTs on the target. at present I need a little bit more practice with AoE and gauging how long enemies will be alive (currently applying too many DoTs when I should be casting Lunar Strike a little earlier).
Do you experience slowdowns, lag or disconnects while raiding?
